T-MARC Tanzania promotes reproductive health and family planning by working collaboratively with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MoHSW) and other partners to develop and disseminate information, train implementing teams, organise sensitization meetings and execute behaviour change and social marketing interventions.

Reproductive health addresses the reproductive processes, functions and systems at all stages of life. T-MARC believes that people have the right to be informed of and have access to safe, effective, affordable and acceptable modern family planning methods that enable safe pregnancy and childbirth, and result in healthy infants. In line with this belief and the Organisation’s goals, T-MARC began socially marketing Flexi P oral contraceptives in Tanzania since September 2006.

T-MARC has also successfully developed and utilised national media to communicate behaviour change messages that addressed myths and misconceptions about family planning, provided information on reproductive health and methods of family planning, promoted safe motherhood and encouraged women to seek the assistance of family planning providers on selecting suitable methods. T-MARC is also currently working with the MoHSW and other partners in the Campaign to Accelerate Reduction of Maternal Mortality in Tanzania (CARMA).
